Editing...Again (Production Blog)

Hey Guys! Today we’re going to be talking about the continued editing process.  After Sarah used iMovie to cut out some unnecessary clips, we decided to switch to CapCut. It being user friendly as well as our previous experience made it much more enticing. Although Sarah and I verbally stated that we were not technologically savvy, it was unanimously agreed to split the work evenly.  Most of the editing decisions were quite obvious considering our theme. We put a dark, bluish filter on our clips. We wanted an eerie but subtle look, similar to the editing of Twilight. One of the hardest parts were the transitions. Nobody in tue group had CapCut Pro, so our options were limited. Many of them seemed childish, obnoxious, or entirely out of the theme. Luckily, there were a few options that fit our projected aesthetic. Also, once music and titles are added, they will be made to be much more subtle and blend in more.  We also made sure to have as much variety as possible within our shots, tra

Editing!! (Production Blog)

Hey Guys! Today we’re going to talk about my editing process. During our filming, we ended up using multiple phones. Evidently, filming for hours may have an effect on one’s phone. Although Milana’s phone has the best quality, we ran out of battery quickly. I was not able to use my one due to storage issues. So, as a solution, we switched between Sarah and Sasha’s phone. But this did have it downfalls. As a result, all the clips were created across three different devices. So the first thing they did was upload all the content into our shared Gmail folder. The second thing we had to do was decide on our editing platform. I personally have the most experience with CapCut and Vimeo. The rest of my team also had significant experience with Capcut. Although, since this project was much longer, we decided to use iMovie. If any problems with this arise, we will use Capcut as a backup. So that’s it for the beginning of our editing process. Stay tuned for updates, we are so close to the final

Second Filming (Production Blog)

Hey Guys!! Today we will be talking about our second day of filming   Because it was a weekend, there was a bit more cushion to run late. We also had only a few scenes left to film. So the pressure of time which was haunting us this entire journey was basically relieved. My group arrived to my house early in the morning, around nine or ten. This was so that filming did not take up all our time and we could have the remainder of the day for our respective plans.  We got to work expeditiously. Having already getting in the groove on Day 1, today seemed significantly easier. We had most of our lines memorized and prepped. Any mistakes or retakes were on the account of extenuating circumstances or just the nervousness of having a camera on us.  Because my friend could not make it on this day, I had a family member help us out with any shots which required the entire cast. There were a few hiccups with the actual shooting as some of the shots and angles were quite difficult. But after some

First Filming!! (Production Blog)

Hey Guys!! Today were going to discuss our filming day. Pay attention, because this is going to be a ride! Since our costume did not vary heavily from our normal clothes, most of us wore them to school. This was also an effort to save time. Milana, Sasha, and I arrived at my home about twenty minutes after school dismissal. As Milana got changed, Sasha and I read over our lines. Sarah arrived about fifteen minutes later due to a prior engagement. She was all dressed, so we were set to go!  The fact that I was leaving town that day ended up being a blessing in terms of props. Since I already had a packed bag, I used it in the first scene where I leave our house and we pack our luggage into the trunk. The rest of my groups just used their bookbags since we all just left school. For the actual filming, we did some experimenting. I had a camera, but it was vintage and had blurry quality. We also tried using some of our phones but came up with the same results quality wise. Finally, we fou

Pre- Filming (Production Blog)

Hey Guys!! Today we are going to be talking about a few procedures we did pre-production.  Although we did finally get a time to film, it had to be crammed into all our busy schedules. I was going our of town that weekend and was unable to film. We ultimately decided it would be best to do on a Friday. Unfortunately, Sarah and Milana were forced to cancel plans. I also had prior commitments which were mandator for my other classes. But since they were at night, I was luckily able to fit filming into my day. We agreed on about two and a half hours of filing. Since we have school before and I have plans after, it was imperative that we get as much done beforehand. We are filming tomorrow in my home. In preparation, I needed to make sure my house was ready. I spent a few hours cleaning today. I also needed to pack since I was leaving town tomorrow night. I wouldn't have any time to do so tomorrow due to filming and just a packed schedule in general.  I also made sure to have my lines
